Lipstick Tag

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
Not including lipbalms, lip glosses (and glossy inks) I own 30 lipsticks. Is that bad? I don't know hahaha!

2. What was the 1st lipstick you owned?
I owned little crappy one's that came in the sets that mumma's always buy their make up obsessed 8 year old to stop them stealing their own make up of course! However, my first proper lipstick when I got into makeup was a Rimmel one in Rose Sorbet which is a lovely corally colour!

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
Either MAC or YSL. I love MAC for the variety of colours and finishes and they are a lot cheaper than YSL. However I love the feel of YSL one's and the packaging!

4. What is your most worn lipstick?
Probably my YSL peach passion! It's just such a gorgeous peachy shade that goes with so many makeup looks and outfits.

5. What is your favourite finish?
Cremesheen by MAC or a more glossy finish from other brands. I'm not really into matte lipsticks to be honest! I don't even suffer from dry lips but I feel matte lipsticks make me feel/look like I do (just me??)

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?
Girl About Town and Pure Zen by MAC.

7. How many lip products do you have in your bag?
Let's count shall we...8! That's when you know you carry far too much unnecessary stuff around with you! I actually only cleared my bag out last week aswell..oopsy! I always toss a new one in as I'm running out the door and forget to take my old one's out..no wonder my bags so heavy!

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?
I loooove the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in the colour 107, it's a really dark, deep red which I love! My favourite bright red though is Brave Red by MAC.

9. How do you store your lipsticks?
I have two acrylic lipstick organisers which I keep them in, a jar in my chest of drawers and apparently I keep a lot in my bag too....

10. What lipsticks are you currently lusting over?
I'm really naughty when it comes to lipstick, the majority of my friends have the lipstick emoji beside my name on their phone which says it all really!! I really like the coral shade from YSL's Spring/Summer collection! I also really want MAC's Chatterbox, Honey Love and SpeedDial. Then I'm lusting after quite a few Topshop one's aswell such as Macaroon, Pillow talk and Whimsical!

What's your favourite lipsticks? Have you tried any of these?

I tag anybody who would like to do this! :-)

Skincare Saturdays || La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo || Review

Hellooo my lovelies,

A few weeks ago I went out and purchased the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo after being told by so many people how amazing it is. I don't have acne but I do have blemish prone skin, I'd say it's normal to combination and I usually get blemishes on my cheeks and the odd spot. This product claims to correct imperfections, unclog pores, fight against marks and that after 24 hours skin will be visibly less red and after four weeks pores will look unclogged and skin texture will be refined. Furthermore it also claims to give 24 hour hydration, lasting mattifying base for make up and helps control the appearance of shine. That's a lot of claims!!!

I have been using this product for nearly three weeks now and I have noticed a massive difference in my skin!!! As the brand states- after 24 hours you really can see a visible difference, not a massive one straight away but you can definitely see that the products working. With this you have to apply it to your whole face day and night so just before you go to sleep and in the morning before you put your make-up on. I had no problems with using it in place of a moisturiser as my make-up base, it did as good a job if not better in hydrating my skin but also keeping it matte. I actually found myself forgetting to powder this morning because even with a dewy foundation on top my face didn't look like it needed powdered! As I don't suffer from dry skin I'm not sure if it would be enough on it's own or if you would need to use a moisturiser before it to keep your skin hydrated.

The product is a white creamy texture and it's a thin consistency so spreads nicely on your face. I do find that I need quite a lot of this product to cover my entire face but my tube still feels like its over three quarters full so I think this will last a long time.

Although I don't suffer from acne, I do get hormonal spots every now and again and I do still have these even with using this. So I'm not entirely sure this product would help take all spots away but it would definitely help those who have really red, angry acne as it helps diminish redness. It did seem to help quite a few smaller spots that I had on my cheeks to pack up their bags and leave because I now have less spots on my cheeks! As for the unclogging pores, I'm not sure if it has done this or not because I have still been getting the usual amount of spots I would get but that could also have been other products causing them. However, it's definitely worth purchasing for the improvements it will make in reducing redness and smoothing skin texture alone. My skin feels smoother and I haven't had any red marks or discoloration appear since using this product.

I will 100% be repurchasing this when it runs out and I'm super glad I was convinced to buy it because I now feel confident to leave the house without wearing any face make-up and if I do wear any I can get away with just concealer! Whereas previously I would have had to cover my cheeks as I felt self-conscious about the red blemishes.

If you have blemish prone skin, suffer from redness, spots or any kind of imperfection then you should definitely give this a try. I'm convincing everyone I love to try it because it's so so good. It's £15.50 from Boots and if you try it out before June then La Roche Posay guarantee to give you your money back if you don't notice clearer skin!

Have you tried the Effaclar Duo? What did you think of it?

Topshop Denim || Haul

Hellooo my lovelies,

I mentioned in my last post that I hadn't done my Spring/Summer clothes shop and I was desperate to do it so I started this off on the Topshop website! I really want to go a proper shop in town but I'm yet to find a time during the day where one of my friends is free to come with me (is it just me that feels like when you're shopping alone everyone is watching you, thinking you're going to steal things?? Probably just me hahaha). It's definitely not the same shopping with a boy either as they just get in the way and don't like waiting around changing rooms while you try everything on! So there will be another haul once I get myself to the shops but I like to show you my clothes before I wear them and I couldn't wait to wear these any longer sorry! Let me know in the comments if you prefer one big collective haul post or a few smaller haul posts more regularly.

I've never been a massive jeans kind of girl, I just could never find any that fitted me properly or were comfy enough and because I'm small they always seemed to be so long on me or not as 'skinny' as I like my jeans to be. So last year I got loads of Topshop jeggings which I absolutely love to bits and my favourite ones were these bleached blue ones. However, I managed to get foundation on them which would not come out and also recently pen ink which also would not come out. So I decided to get a new pair which I have worn and again already managed to get foundation on... I'm not sure what it is about these because I manage not to do it to my other clothes!! Anywaaay.. it's a smaller patch and hopefully it'll come out in the wash this time. I got these in a size 8 and they're £22 from Topshop and if you're a student you'll get 10% off on top of that. They do these jeggings in so many colours and they're super comfy and flattering! I love wearing them with crop tops in Summer and they also look good with longer tops too. Definitely a statement piece!

I decided I needed some jeans because I literally only have one pair that fit me and they're Topshop joni jeans. Again these fit super nice and they're really high waisted so they look great with crop tops and cropped jumpers without having to show too much skin! I already had the vintage wash one's so I chose the 'Mid-Stone' colour this time and they're really nice and go with pretty much anything! They are £36 but for a good pair of jeans it's totally worth it and I've had my other Joni jeans for over a year and they're as good as new. These again are a total staple piece and every girl needs a good pair of jeans (or two, or three etc...).

Joni jeans have two pockets on the back of them.. I do kind of wish they had front pockets too though as I'd not really put anything in my back pocket incase I sat on it and especially not my phone as that's pretty easy to steal.

I also got the exact same jeans in black because you also need a pair of black jeans! You can dress them up or down and they're always handy to have for formal occasions like work or interviews. I wasn't sure whether to get black Leigh jeans or Joni one's but I went for Joni in the end because they look better with crop tops as they show less stomach off.

The last pair of jeans I got were 'Leigh' acid wash one's. I've never tried Topshop Leigh jeans before but I'm definitely up for trying more now! They're so super comfy and soft! I really like the style of these and they'll be great for Spring and Summer. They look great with crop tops too although they don't sit as high as Joni jeans do but because I'm small I can get away with pulling them up slightly higher! I get all of mine's in length 30 which I think may be the smallest leg length they do but they fit really nicely and I'm around 5ft 1. The good thing about Topshop jeans is that every Topshop pretty much always has every size and every style in stock so you can easily pop in and work out which size is best for you. The Leigh jeans cost £38 which is expensive but again if you have student discount or know anybody who does then that's really good and they will last a long time. However, if you're on a budget then I have heard that Primark do really nice jeans but I haven't personally tried them.

A plus point for the Leigh jeans is that they have both back pockets and the front pockets. So if I'm just nipping out then I don't need to take a bag or have to pop my phone in my bra (all good and well till you need to get it out again!!)

Where's your favourite place to get jeans?

Babyliss Hair Curling Wand || Review

Hellooo my lovelies,

Lately I've been loving voluminous curly hair, I have no idea why as I used to love having straight hair and my curlers remained unloved but now I use them for every 'event' I go to. I don't really like using heat on my hair too often in case it damages it so I would never do this more than once a week unless I really had too. I recommend using a heat spray with this too because it does get super hot! I love that it's red aswell, obviously that makes zero difference to how good it is but it definitely looks nicer in my hair tools box. It comes in black too if you prefer it to not be coloured!

Hair straight after using Babliss curling wand
This curling wand is really great as it's super simple to use, you just turn it on and pick your temperature using the arrows. I always use the hottest setting, 200 degrees, because I assume it works best and produces better curls but to be honest I haven't tried the other settings so I can't say for sure! It comes with a glove as well which I have of course lost because I've had this product for two years now but only started using it half a year ago. Be really careful though because I've burnt myself multiple times with this and it is reeeaally sore! I also don't know the exact price of these because they were a present and I no longer have the box but I think they're around £20 which is reasonable for a curling tool. Every one of my friends who has used this at mine before a night out has went out and bought one for themselves so that vouches for how good this product is!

Top Tips:- Once I have finished curling my hair, I spray it with any hairspray (I'm not fussy) to set it a bit and then brush it out gently and this will just help you achieve looser curls rather than tight ones. After this I spray a lot of L'Oreals Volume Supersizing Spray which will give you added volume and make your look more interesting and less 'perfect'.

These curlers are amazing and if anything ever happened to them I'd definitely repurchase. Even up to two days later my hair has good curls still in place that I'm happy enough with to not have to brush out.

Two days after
Have you tried this product? What curling wand do you use?

Haul, Haul, Haul! || Mac and Boots

Hellooo my lovelies,

So I've been shopping again *slaps on wrists*. I think I need to ban myself from going anywhere near the shops because I always spend far too much money. I do still have a Spring/Summer clothes shop to do though so I will need to brave the shops a few more times yet before I can implement this ban! I will do a fashion haul post on that too if you'd be interested in seeing it!

The first thing I picked up was St Tropez bronzing mousse and a new tanning mitt. I have never used this fake tan before because I love my St Moriz which is a fraction of the price, you can pick that one up for £3 and St Tropez is £20!! However, where I live apparently it's wrong to fake tan apart from in the main summer months so literally nowhere has it in stock! The only shops where I can get fake tan during the colder months is Boots and Superdrug and neither stock St Moriz sadly. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, I'd order it online and wait but I have a 21st on Saturday and I don't want to be a little ghost for that! Fingers crossed this tan gives me the effect that I get from St Moriz or better...(it better for £20 anyway!!). I also grabbed a new tanning mitt because my other one was filthy and I was long overdue a new one. Don't ya just love the feel of a new tanning mitt?! If you haven't used one to fake tan before then I definitely would because it gives the best finish!

My Boots FINALLY had the Revlon colourburst Matte Balm stains in the colours I wanted! The colours I chose were 'Unapologetic' which is a beautiful Pink colour (I can almost see you all rolling your eyes at yet another pink lip colour) and I also chose 'Mischievous' which is a pretty orange shade. I only have one orange lipstick and since it's bang on trend this season why not hey! Although I'm not entirely sure I suit orange lipstick so I'm yet to be brave enough to wear it outside...

I picked up a Revlon nail polish also because all Revlon makeup was on 3 for 2 and I wasn't really after anything specific so I just got a new nail polish (which I definitely did not need). Obviously it was pink because I wouldn't pick any other colour would I? I could probably do a lengthy blog post on just the pink nail polishes that I own alone!

The last thing I got in Boots was this deep sleep pillow talk set. It includes the deep sleep pillow spray and the stress less rollerball. I've wanted it for a while because I suffer from panic attacks and insomnia so anything that can help me relax and get more sleep is a gift from God. I'm hoping it works! I actually got this with my Boots points because then if it doesn't work, I won't really feel like I've wasted £22. I really like buying something 'big' or 'expensive' with my Boots points because then I feel like I've got something great for free...even though it's technically not free!

Probably the most exciting thing I bought was two new MAC lipsticks. I definitely have an addiction, I definitely did not need these but I definitely was not able to leave the shop without them! I actually had four so I think I did well narrowing it down to two, I bought 'Pure Zen' and 'Girl About Town' and the other two I was choosing between was 'Honey Love' and 'Japanese Maple'. Girl About Town is a bright fuchsia pink and Pure Zen is just a pale peachy nude. As I'm sure you'll gather by my colour selection, I've been looking for a new nude lipstick and I've been loving my Tanya Burr 'Afternoon Tea' lipgloss so I was going along the lines of that colour but in a lipstick? Honey Love, Japanese Maple and Pure Zen are all similar, they aren't dupes of each other but they're too close in colour to justify buying them all! I so nearly went for 'Honey Love' which is a matte finish but Gary informed me that it looked like I'd put dark foundation on my lips so I gave that one a miss! But hey I'll probably end up going back for that one another day and although Japanese Maple looked like concealer lips for me I'll probably end up with that too! I really want to collect MAC lipsticks, I'm not sure what it is but there's something so satisfying about adding them to my collection

Hope you enjoyed seeing the bits and bobs I picked up recently! What products have you bought recently? Have you tried any of these products?

New Sleek Blush Palettes Review || Pink Lemonade and Californ.I.A

Hellooo my lovelies,

In my recent haul that I did here, I picked up two of Sleek's new blush palettes because I love all of their individual blushers and the colours were gorgeous especially for Spring and Summer!

The packaging as it always is with Sleek is exactly that, Sleek! It's slimline which I love because I can fit it into my overnight/longday make-up bag with ease and it has a massive mirror in it which I'm always thankful for in products as it means I don't have to carry around a compact with me. I think Sleek's packaging is very reminiscent of NARS and at a fraction of the price too!

The first palette I bought was 'Californ.I.A' which has three cream blushers in the most gorgeous colours for Spring and Summer. Peach, coral, and apricot shades and they are actually blush colours that I don't have already. I only own one cream blush and I really like it and Spring/Summer is definitely the time to whip out the cream blushers because it leaves a fresher more dewy look.

Californ.I.A swatches Left to Right:- OC, Surf and Newport Peach

The second palette I bought was Pink Lemonade which has two powder blushes and a cream one.It a) has a super cute name and b) is filled with cream and powder pink blush shades and we all know that I'm a major sucker for cute names and pretty pink shades! The blush names are even cuter in this palette with my personal favourite being 'Macaroon'. I think my favourite shade out of this palette is 'Macaroon' but I really like 'Pink Mint' as well.

Left to Right:- 'Pink Lace', 'Macaroon' and 'Icing Sugar'

Sorry I've been M.I.A. for a few days, I've had alot of coursework to do for uni and I tried to keep up with the regular posts but in the end it just got too hectic! I missed blogging so much though so I'll definitely be back with regular posts again until my exams next month!

Have you tried any of Sleeks blushers? What's your favourite one?

Skincare and Fashion Haul

Hellooo my lovelies,

Recently my skin has been going crazy, not so much spots but just blemishes and red marks and the odd spot of course too. I finally seem to have reached the age that around that certain time of the month I get one or two really bad spots instead of just the random teenage hormone spots that I used to get. So I decided I would take advantage of Boots 3 for 2 to try and sort my skin out! I also really wanted to pick up a few of the Revlon matt balms but they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock so sadly I don't have them to show you...yet! I will be back to pick those up soon though and I have a very large amount of Boots points to spend so I'll be sure to show you what I get when I get them!

A product I've been hearing a lot about lately is La-Roche Posay, Effaclar Duo and I read so many good reviews on it that I just had to give it a try so that's what I did. I will review all these products on my blog if you would be interested in seeing them! The second product I picked up was the No Clogs Allowed face mask which I saw on Zoella's Youtube channel and I instantly had to have it. I love face masks but the little individual packets annoy me because there's enough product to last me more than one time but because it's in a flimsy packet I can't keep it to use another time. Even better, the mask is a self-heating face mask which is my favourite type of face mask and it turns blue when you put it on your face! The last thing I picked up as my 'freebie' was Dr Spot which I haven't heard anything about so it was a complete blind buy but there was no other skincare things that I was looking for so I just went for it. Fingers crossed it'll help get rid of those period 'pains' that pop up on your face at that time of the month!

A very sleepy pup crashing my blog photos hahaha!

On my way to Boots, I was walking past H & M and they had all their amazing new pieces in the window so of course I HAD to go in... I never actually bought any of the things I saw in the window because I was in a rush to get back to do my uni coursework but I will be heading back the day I finish it!! I did find one thing though that I just could not leave the store without! It's this gorgeous fluffy/shearling cardigan/coat and it is so so comfy. Literally everyone I have seen wearing this I've asked to stroke me hahaha. I thought it was the perfect piece because it can be worn as a coat in Spring and Summer but then also as a caridgan on colder days! It can also be dressed up or dressed down and it is white so it will go with everything! Could you get a more versatile piece?! I've already worn it twice, once as a coat to the cinema with my boyfriend to see Non-Stop which is a great film by the way! and I've also worn it causally for just errands as a cardigan! It's not in the slightest bit itchy or furry on the inside because it's lined with a silky/satin material! Plus it was only £29.99, bargain!

Benefit Watts Up Review

Hellooo my lovelies,

The other day I was going through my makeup collection and I refound this highlighter which I used to adore. I kind of pushed it to one side when I got MAC mineralised skin finish in Soft and Gentle and I got so obsessed with it that I forgot this little treasure existed! So I thought I'd rekindle my love with it and wear it again and it's safe to say that I won't be forgetting it again in a hurry!

Firstly I think the name is really cool as it's a highlighter so it lights up your face and this highlighter really does light up your face fabulously. It has one end which is a champagne coloured highlighter and the other end is a sponge to blend/buff it in with which is really handy when you're on the go!

The highlighter is pretty subtle but when the light hits it, it just makes you look so glowy and healthy! It lasts the whole day aswell so there's no need for touch up's, you can be rest assured that your skin will be radiant all day long with this little guy! I'm a proper highlighter girl literally the favourite part of my make up routine is contouring, blush and highlight as I think it can completely change your face and the list of highlighters that I want is ridiculous! I'm having to be restrained and use up the highlighters that I already own first. Oh the woes of a beauty addict!

Have you tried this highlighter? What are your favourite highlighters?

MAC, Sleek, Rimmel, Accessorize And More Haul!

Helloo my lovelies,

On Saturday I went shopping in town with my boyfriend because I long needed a break from all my uni coursework which is why I haven't been posting as much as I usually would. Believe me I've had to resist the urge to give up and write a blog post many a time but I just don't have the time to put my best effort into it at the moment. I will be going back to posting 4/5 times a week when it's all finished though which (thankfully) is very soon! Anywaaay I ended up getting quite a few things but I still have another few bits and bobs on my list so you may well see a second haul before long!

Probably the most exciting thing I bought was a MAC lipstick in the shade Pink Pearl Pop, it's this gorgeous light pink and I looove it! It's a cremesheen lipstick although to me it looks sort of more like a Frost finish as it has tiny shimmery bits shot through it. I have four lipsticks on my MAC most wanted list at the moment so I was very, very restrained and only bought one but I have a feeling I'll be back before long...

The next big thing I got was a new handbag! My current handbag is the Zara Office City bag which I do like but it is maaaassive which is great for when I have lots of textbooks or when I'm staying somewhere but for everyday it's just too big! I opted for this one from Accessorize because it's very Spring/Summer like and I love coral colours, plus it's smaller than the Zara Office City bag yet it still seems to fit loads into it. Usually with me when people say they can fit a lot into a bag, I'm like 'not my definition of a lot' because I carry a ridiculous amount of stuff around with me! But no.. this bag really is like a magic hideaway! I may do a what's in my bag with it to show you just how much stuff you can cram in here if you would be interested(??). It's not too dissimilar to the Michael Kors selma bag either, which I really love but just can't justify buying right now especially not in a pretty colour like this as it won't go with every outfit I wear.

This bag also comes in a bright jade green colour which I love also and was debating between which colour to buy but I opted for the coral as I thought it would be more wearable with the clothes I wear. Who knows I may end up going back for the green!! It also comes in a navy shade and a pretty pastel, lilac shade which would also look really great for Spring!

This bag was only £32 pounds as well which is a bargain compared to the Michael Kors Selma!

A little bit of a random purchase but I thought I'd throw it in anyway because I know how many people love Zoella! If by some chance you haven't heard of Zoella she's a You tuber and blogger and she's probably my biggest inspiration because like me she suffers from anxiety and panic attacks and she's given some pretty great advice on how to deal with them. So when I heard that she was going to be on the cover of Company magazine I just had to buy it! It also came with a free 'Company' mascara but I've not got high hopes for it since magazines own branded make-up never tends to be that great!

As I'm sure you all know by now, Boots have 3 for 2 across everything in store right now so I thought I'd get myself in on some of that action! Firstly I picked up two bottles of my favourite ever foundation, Rimmel Wake Me Up in shade 100 and 201 for when I'm tanned. Then I picked up my favourite Concealer, Collections lasting perfection, two in shade 1 Fair and one in shade 3 Warm Medium for when I have fake tan on. The lady on the Boots counter actually said to me 'You do realise you've picked up all these in different shades' hahaha. I also got two samples of MAC's face and body foundation from Harvey Nichols in shades N5 for when I'm tanned and N2 for when I'm not. I'm really interested in buying this foundation but I have combination skin so I'm not too sure but I'd really like it for when I go to events where I'll be getting my photo taken as it doesn't have SPF in it. Have any of you tried it? What did you think? If any of you have any reviews on it then pleeeease link them below as I'd be really interested in reading them!

In my coursework procrastination I was browsing Sleek's website and I noticed that they had two new blush palettes out that caught my eye. The first one was Californ.I.A. and the second was Pink Lemonade and I was going to buy these online but as you know I have a lot of trouble with parcel couriers so decided to just pick them up in store!

The first palette is Californ.I.A. and it has three cream blushers in it. I actually only own one cream blusher and I really like it so I thought I would invest in some more and for just under 10 pounds for three blushers you can't complain! The shades are really gorgeous colours for Spring with peaches and pinks and I think cream blushers look extra nice in Spring and Summer. Sleeks products are always really good and I'm yet to find one that's disappointed me and their blushers pigment are definitely comparable to MAC in my opinion.

Pink Lemonade is an equally gorgeous palette which is full of pink blushers so I obviously wasn't going to be leaving Superdrug without it (you all know my love of Pink!). It has two powder blushes which are a light pink and a corally toned pink and both have shimmer shot through them. The middle blush is called Macaroon which is just such a pretty name for a blusher and this one is a pink cream blush and all of these blushers will look beautiful this season. I really love Sleek's packaging with these aswell as it's very streamlined and fits into my make-up bag with ease. The mirrors super handy aswell because it's a big mirror and it saves me from carrying a compact one around with me! I will definitely be doing a review on these blush palettes soon so keep an eye out!

The last item I bought was a Collection work the colour eyeshadow pencil in a chocolate brown shade called 'Hot Chocolate'. I already have two of these pencils 'Vanilla Sky which is a pretty white for highlighting and a dusky pink called 'Vintage Blush' and they are really good for a quick swipe, all over the lid colour. These are extremely creamy and blendable and this shade would be really nice for a crease or outer corner colour! They're extremely pigmented and they only cost a few pounds but I actually ended up getting this for free because of my other purchases.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?

Lots of Love,
A x x x
